Functional Dynamics Class | Youth Athletic Training Ages 8-14 | CDS Cumming GA
FunctionalDynamics
A foundational learning program for athletes ages 8–14. Functional Dynamics teaches the movement fundamentals every athlete needs — posture, coordination, body control and athletic rhythm — before speed and strength training can truly work.
What Athletes Learn and Build
Functional Dynamics is a teaching program first. Every session is structured around learning real movement patterns that carry over to every sport and every position your athlete plays.
Every session opens with a structured warm-up that teaches athletes how to properly prepare their body for training. Posture, breathing, joint activation and movement awareness — habits that last a lifetime.
The core of every session. Athletes learn how to squat, hinge, lunge, push, pull and sprint with correct mechanics. These are not just exercises — they are the building blocks every sport is built on.
Athletes learn rhythm, timing and spatial awareness — how to control their body in all directions. This is the coordination foundation that makes speed training and agility work actually stick.
Athletes are introduced to bodyweight and functional strength movements using proper technique. The focus is learning how to load the body correctly — not how much weight they can lift.
Coach Tim teaches athletes how to show up, pay attention and take coaching. Focus, effort, adaptability and accountability are taught alongside the physical skills — because the mental foundation matters just as much.
Every session closes with stretching and recovery work. Athletes learn how to properly cool down, how to listen to their body and how to take care of themselves between sessions.
Pick Your Schedule. Two or Four Days.
Parents choose the schedule that works best for their family. Two days per week builds strong foundational habits. All four days gives athletes the repetition they need to truly internalize the movements.

Who Lived It
Coach Tim Buckley is a former NFL wide receiver with the Atlanta Falcons and a Biology graduate with a Pre-Physical Therapy emphasis. He built Functional Dynamics because he saw too many young athletes jump straight into speed and strength training without ever learning how to move correctly first.
Functional Dynamics is where every CDS athlete starts. It is a teaching program — not a workout class. Athletes who build this foundation first move better, absorb coaching faster, get injured less and develop into stronger athletes across every sport they play.
